Linnaeus Estates Manager in Remote (UK), United Kingdom

Hours: 37.5 hours per week.

Salary range: £40,000 - £52,000 pa depending on experience, plus car allowance.

Due to continued growth, Linnaeus have a new and exciting opportunity for an Estates Manager to join our expanding Property team. Reporting to the Head of Estates, you will increase the capacity of the team to deliver short, medium and long term group property objectives. Supporting the Head of Estates and wider Property team you will assist in managing the portfolio across the south of the UK. This is a key role within the business engaging with many departments and associates across our network of primary care practices and referral hospitals supporting them with advice and assistance on day to day property management and lease issues.

You will work alongside the Estates Manager (North/Midlands), and our Construction and FM colleagues interpreting legal arrangements providing advice on repairing obligations. Collaboration with the finance team will also be needed to ensure rents and other legal and financial liabilities are paid on time and support will be needed with cost mitigation strategies such as business rates. You will have regular liaison with landlords and their agents.

Experience in property management systems will help you to assist the Head of Estates in developing and maintaining the groups Property Asset Register and ensure robust document management and property information systems are maintained.

Professional landlord and tenant work will be required including rent reviews, lease renewals, regears and new leases as well as dealing with breaks and applying for landlord consents. You will also assist the Head of Estates with the collation of comparable rental evidence. You may also support with disposals as well as relocations from time to time, as and when required.

The role would ideally suit a creative and resilient general practice surveyor early in their career, looking to take the next step. Whether you are an AssocRICS, undertaking your APC or are recently qualified through the RICS, we are looking for someone with at least 2 years property or estates experience across a multi-site commercial portfolio.

Experience in the occupier sector within clinical environments will be an advantage, but is not considered essential. You will need to demonstrate good technical knowledge and understanding of Landlord and Tenant legislation, have strong interpersonal skills, be a positive communicator, highly organised and self-motivated. Attention to detail will be important as well as having excellent problem solving skills, often required to convey complex information in a range of formats. You will be comfortable operating both strategically and reactively/ operationally whilst maintaining a varied workload working in a sometimes fast paced environment. You will have a thirst for knowledge and eagerness to learn and grow along with the business.

Whilst the role can be home based you will be expected to work from our office at least once a week. Travel is also required across the south of the UK to undertake site visits, so you must have a full UK driving licence and have access to a roadworthy vehicle. In return you will have exposure to many exciting projects working alongside experienced professionals across a range of disciplines, to deepen your knowledge and widen your existing skillset.
