VCA Northview Animal Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic veterinary technician to join our General Medicine and Surgery team full time!

Surgery Veterinary Technician Duties:
Technician skill utilization
Ensure patients are provided gold standard medical care
Anesthesia monitoring and recovery
Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety is a top priority) and Digital Radiographs
Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services
Understanding of wellness, preventative care, and common pharmaceuticals
Providing compassionate care for all patients embracing Fear Free adaptations
Strong client educator
Familiar with EMR
Patient intake and medical record preparation for surgical procedure
Surgery suite set up and turnover
Premedication and induction of anesthesia
Sterile prep of surgical site
Anesthetic monitoring throughout procedure
Ensuring surgeon has necessary surgical instruments and equipment
Recovery of patient
All recordkeeping associated with anesthetic procedures through the point of transfer to another department.
The surgery technician shares on-call responsibility with other team members. This person will also be involved with cleaning and sterilization of surgical suites, surgical packs and equipment, maintenance and quality control of anesthetic equipment, and other housekeeping responsibilities.
Potential Schedule: Full-time Mon-Friday, shift times may vary but typically will be working four 10 hour shifts or three 12 hour shifts.
