Here’s the scoop - Summary

The Director, Sales and Trade Analytics will lead the Analytics Team to capture and organize relevant data into actionable insights. The team will help develop user friendly tools and in-depth analyses to help inform strategic business decisions both internally as well as externally with our customers. The Director, Sales and Trade Analytics will interface regularly with senior leadership and strategic customers to help implement growth plans.

Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, this position will be based remotely in the US.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Collaborate across the business to ensure strategies and plans are based on sound customer and market understanding.

  • Anticipate business and insights needs.

  • Proficient in dashboard and report construction

  • Utilize expertise in primary and secondary research to cut through data clutter and deliver unique insights.

  • Build relationships with agencies to perfect research tools and create new ones.

  • Integrate data from multiple sources to drive foresight and strategy.

  • Develop, lead and train a team to execute on analytics initiatives.

  • Lead customer level business planning, including pro forma modelling

  • Prepare monthly reports and/or manages special projects, as directed or assigned.

  • Develop and maintain successful professional working relationships with relevant corporate departments and distributor/customer partners.

  • Perform other tasks as required or assigned.

  • Develop, create and explain business analytics to deliver critical and relevant insights and plans to build growth agendas

  • Internal analysis, research, product analysis and pricing strategy

  • Maintains sales volume and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors

  • Maintain competitive knowledge to create and adjust sales strategies

  • Create and implement sales strategies and plans in order to grow sales in key markets within all product categories

  • Perform other tasks as required or assigned.

What are we looking for?

  • Post-secondary education in Business or related field (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent)

  • Minimum eight years related insights and/or analytics experience, preferably within a consumer packaged goods environment.

  • Data/Insights mining expert with syndicated tools (Nielsen, pos, and household panel)

  • Experienced in creating and building tools and analysis processes.

  • Customer service orientation with the ability to effectively communicate across diverse stakeholder groups both internal and external.

  • Strong analytical skills and proven experience translating data into actionable insights.

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute according to timelines.

  • Ability to attend and/or conduct presentations/meetings.

  • Frequent travel between Canada/US required, with some travel outside of North America to be expected.

  • Some extended hours of work may be required.
