VCA Animal Hospitals Veterinary Technician Supervisor in Chicago, Illinois

Do you want to love your career and cultivate that same passion in others? VCA Ark Animal Hospital actively seeks a Credentialed Veterinary Technician Supervisor to help oversee clinic operations and supervise our Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and Animal Care Attendants.

You will play a vital role in providing exceptional veterinary care to our patients while promoting a healthy work-life balance. Veterinary Technician Supervisor Role will include but are not limited to:

  • Directing work flow on the floor

  • Cultivate an inclusive work environment and strong hospital culture

  • Work cohesively with hospital management to aid in the progression of the hospital

  • Help with the interview process for potential new hires and onboard all new associates

  • Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills

  • Conduct staff meetings

  • Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience

  • Mentoring technicians within the department

  • Resolve conflicts in a professional and humble manner

  • Refining and implementing protocols

  • Ensure that VCA policies, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff


  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT)

  • Compassion

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and individually.

  • Passion for Veterinary Medicine

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Commitment to maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Schedule: Full- time opportunity with flexible scheduling, 4 x 10-hour shifts.

Location: 3235 N Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL 60618

The hospital is located in a quiet neighborhood, has quick access to public transportation (Blue line, I-90, and train station), and is within walking distance of several popular restaurants and breweries.
