District Animal Hospital & Urgent Care has openings for new graduates and experienced Exotics Registered Veterinary Technologists (RVT) to join our brand new hospital, 10,000 square foot hospital, filled with highly skilled professionals. You will have an opportunity to use your skills to the fullest potential! At VCA Canada our RVT’s are given the necessary tools and resources to be successful in pursuing multiple passions within our hospitals.

You’ve worked hard for your credentialing and we want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in. Additional attributes for this role include;
Registered Veterinary Technician or eligible to register (RVT, AHT)
Technical skills; venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, anesthesia monitoring, physical examinations and patient assessment, dentistry, nutrition and pharmacy
Surgical preparation, assisting and patient recovery
Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records
Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients
Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal skills - you enjoy working within a team environment and understand how important team cohesiveness is to a productive day. You are the type of individual who supports your team in a calm and kind way. You also understand there are good days and not so good days and look for opportunities to support and show you care throughout the day.
While teamwork is very important, you will have a keen ability to work independently when required to complete projects or tasks.
Exercise good judgement - making sound decisions on your own and seeking input where appropriate.
Excellent problem-solving skills are essential! We do not expect you to have all the answers, but we do expect that when problems arise you remain professional both face-to-face and over the telephone
Self motivated - we have many great days at our hospitals, but as we all know, there can be sad days and stressful days in our industry. During these days, it is very important to know how to keep your energy going and help others around you as well
Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office and in-house systems
