VCA Animal Hospitals Full Time Kennel/Technician Assistant in Beaverton, Oregon
We are looking for a Kennel/Technician Assistant. This position is responsible for the cleanliness of the hospital and enjoying cleaning is a must. As a Fear Free certified hospital we are looking for an individual as passionate about the cause as we are. We are looking for someone that can work 32-38 hours per week.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Animal care background is desirable, but not required.
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
Cleaning and stocking the hospital is a big part of the job. Must love to clean.
Genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain.
Can work unaffected in an environment where dogs are barking.
Must be available to work some weekends and holidays to be considered for an animal care attendant position.
Physical Effort: Work requires lifting and carrying animals and food bags (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 50 lbs). Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent position.
Has a strong work ethic and is always looking for the next project to ensure the care of the animals is always seen to.
Working conditions: May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases.
