Here’s the Scoop – Summary
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will report directly to the Maintenance Manager. You will supervise and coach the Maintenance team to ensure safe, efficient execution of the maintenance work and optimal operational effectiveness in line with corporate and site objectives.
What an ordinary day looks like:
Safety
Ensure compliance to Company’s policies, practices and procedures related to Health and Safety, Food Safety, and the Environment
Comply with all safety training and departmental SOPs, and with all regulations relating to equipment and chemical approvals for a food manufacturing facility
Ensure that all reporting employees are aware of, and comply with, company policies and procedures related to health and safety and to the environment and commit to personal compliance
Leadership
Provide direction, supervision to diverse workforce of 5 to 10 employees
Recruit, hire, train and manage employee performance
Provide daily direction to team and ensure job tasks are done efficiently and safely
Manage time & attendance of team
Develop and maintain good communication practices with departmental Production staff to advise of lead times required to obtain maintenance parts, and/or services
Maintenance
Assist in the identification and implementation of practices, procedures and service systems that will successfully address day-to-day maintenance issues and create opportunity to improve future production capacities and/or productivity
Oversee implementation and compliance with all aspects of security and preventative maintenance for the building, equipment and inventory, and all environmental issues and health and safety aspects for the departmental workforce
Manage and maintain the Preventative Maintenance computer program
Analyze equipment issues, identify solutions, or determine options for resolution and ensure repairs to the facility and/or equipment are carried out on a least cost basis
Create and maintain appropriate work orders, reports, and records, including information related to repair turn-around time
Participate in regular discussions and/or meetings with the Manager, Maintenance with regard to determination of budget items related to maintenance and other related issues
Other
Consult and organize activities with other teams and departments
Perform other duties as required or assigned
What are we looking for?
3 to 5+ years of supervisory experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or related environment
A College or University graduate from an electro-mechanical program and/or a licensed tradesperson with related experience.
Hold or be willing to complete a 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate
Ability to successful complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol and Fit-to-Work test up to 75 lbs
Ability to clear a Criminal Record Check
Working Conditions:
Shift: Monday – Friday, 2:00pm-10:30pm
Working inside a clean, modern, state-of-the-art pet food manufacturing facility, with brand new equipment.
